  2. More ways to move / organize docs and folder

Currently when you sort documents, you can only do so with the options provided. It would be nice if I could click and drag the documents into my own desired order. This would help a lot if I decide to create multiple documents for one story which are fragments, and I can rearrange them to decide on which order they would happen in.

  3. Bulleted list styling

Right now, if I type "- " at the beginning of a paragraph, it autocorrects to bullet points. This is as it should be; however, the bullets in those bullet points change to "β€’". For some reason, there doesn't seem to be an option to change what shape of bullets are used. If I type "- " at the start of a paragraph, I want bullets shaped like "-", not like "β€’" β€” the "bullet" character is way too obtrusive for my taste. (I also don't want sub-bullets to be a different style.) Could we please have an option to change bullet styles? I write most of my drafts in bullet points, so those bullets need to look the way I want them to.

  4. Stashpad for notes and cut ideas

I saw this in another program (stash in butterdocs) and it was really nice because it saved me having to copy-paste things that I need to remove but want to keep for later into an external notepad/gdoc. With that stash feature, you just sent it there and could bring it back to the draft anytime. I'm not looking for the exact same feature per se, but even just a little notes section that's quickly accessible via the draft would help!

  5. Editable chapter outline panel

A dedicated outline panel separate from the Table of Contents, allowing writers to draft and reference chapter summaries, prompts, and outlines while writing. The outline would remain visible/editable, so writers could remove or update sections as the progress.

  6. Chapter Option

We can create drafts of the main work, but there's no option to split a single, larger work into chapters (that we can then make drafts of) so that we can work and edit chapter-by-chapter.

  7. Document descriptions

The thumbnail for each file is rather big, why not let us add quick summaries in smaller, grey text in that empty space? :D

  8. Laptop/PC app

I (and many writers I know) appreciate having a native PC app. For me, it allows me to work without having reliable internet and push/share changes once I am back online. It also is beneficial to have an app that lives in my toolbar that I can open that doesn't have the option for me to get sidetracked by search windows I'd forgotten about, impulsive whims, etc. It creates a more seamless work experience all around.

  9. Split view / split screen

I think an option to split screen in the window between two drafts would be really helpful. I love the UI and all the interface we have so far, but as someone who sometimes starts clean for drafts, it would be really helpful to be able to have two documents/drafts open at a time and type in those drafts so that I can look between them and find what I want to change more easily.

Allow writers to manage custom dictionaries to include / exclude specific words from spell check.

  11. Copy / export selection of text

When I'm writing in chapters all in one doc, I sometimes want to copy-paste a specific chapter to another platform (eg to post to AO3) rather than the whole document. I can do this manually by selecting the text of the chapter, but this is prone to errors, like forgetting the first/last lines. Additionally, I don't have the option to copy it as HTML or export it to a PDF. It would be nice if, in the outline menu, there was a way to select all the text between one heading and the next heading of the same level (or one of a higher level). So, for example, you could click on a three-dots menu for the "Chapter 1" outline, then have the options to "Select", "Copy as Rich Text", "Copy as HTML", etc. This would also be a good, discreet place to integrate a word count for the chapter (I know I like checking how many words are in a specific chapter to make sure it's not too short/long. Again, I can do it manually now, but it would be a lot easier if I could just click a button to view it.)

  12. Pages, page numbers, margins, and print preview

I would love to have the concept of pages in Ellipsus. When editing a big work, I want to refer to its page numberβ€”it makes it easier to find a passage and pick up where you left off. When exporting into PDF and printing my work, I want to adjust the margins and preview it before exportingβ€”this saves me time and gives me control over the layout (we love aesthetics, right?).

  13. Document Tags

I saw someone had suggested folders before, but until that's implemented (if that's implemented) it'd be nice if we could tag documents to make them easier to filter. Being able to tag by project, at least in the interim, would make it easier to focus on specific projects!

  14. Set and log in with password

Hi Ellipsis team, I think it would be a great option to enable the ability to set a password. I find it a little arduous having to log in with a code sent to my email every time. This is the best writing software I have used for my needs so it would be great to see this feature added. Keep up the good work!

  15. Add auto-correct to spell check

I think this is a thing over on google docs, and I cant find this roadmap yall mention to see if its on there, or if its already in where it would be, but an option in the spellcheck menu to "always correct to". mostly so I can continue to be lazy and have the program add the ' in "dont" for me
