  1. Emboss: what’s new?

    Improvement
    • We think all writers should be able to stand behind their work, and now… every writer can. That’s why Emboss’s writing journey is now free for everyone.
    • Every writing journey now also gets its own standalone URL. You can share it wherever you share your work: anywhere you want to show the human labor behind it.
    • And—on URLs, the writing journey turns your writing progress into a picture with a new words-written-over-time graph.
    • What’s staying the same: Emboss still does not judge the quality of your writing, and it does not assign "AI or human" probability.
    • Writing Journey metrics come from the same processes as version history and real-time writing in Ellipsus, turning the record your document already creates into an easy-to-read picture of a document’s progress. (You can learn more about Emboss on the Help Center.)
    • Of course—everything is AI-free and private by default, and shared only on your own terms. Nothing about your writing process is public unless you actively choose to share it.Public version history sharing is accessible via Ellipsus Plus.

Check out our blog post about why we hate AI verifiers; and watch the video to see what’s new! 👇

  3. Login issue: cannot log in on iOS <16.4

    Known Issue

Following framework updates done by our authorization provider, the minimum version of iOS required by their services is 16.4.

If you are able to update your device to at least iOS version 16.4, this immediately remedies the issue, but they have confirmed that devices running older versions of iOS are no longer supported by their services—or Apple's—due to the compatibility and security risks.

There is no other workaround at this time.

  4. Feature request overhaul

    Improvement

Over the last three years, we've managed to acquire quite the lengthy list of feature requests!

In order to better reflect and communicate the development status, visibility, and organization of the ideas board, we're making some changes and updates, including:

    • Adjusting labels and categories
    • Updating statuses
    • Enabling a (rough) roadmap view + announcements page

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we carry out these slightly messy updates!
