  1. Chapter Option

We can create drafts of the main work, but there's no option to split a single, larger work into chapters (that we can then make drafts of) so that we can work and edit chapter-by-chapter.

  4. Pages, page numbers, margins, and print preview

I would love to have the concept of pages in Ellipsus. When editing a big work, I want to refer to its page number—it makes it easier to find a passage and pick up where you left off. When exporting into PDF and printing my work, I want to adjust the margins and preview it before exporting—this saves me time and gives me control over the layout (we love aesthetics, right?).

  5. Set and log in with password

Hi Ellipsis team, I think it would be a great option to enable the ability to set a password. I find it a little arduous having to log in with a code sent to my email every time. This is the best writing software I have used for my needs so it would be great to see this feature added. Keep up the good work!

  6. Fully customizable themes

It would be nice to be able to personalise screen themes. I'm dyslexic, and having the ability to set the page colour to the shade of blue I like would be fantastic.

  7. Dark Mode for Pride

I LOVEEEE the new pride theme, it is so cute!! As someone who uses a screen constantly I just won't be able to manage the brightness even though I love the color scheme. Adding a dark option for this would be so cool and easier on the eyes for those of us who are prone to headaches and such! I love the rainbows and it certainly made it more fun to have to sit down and do words today!

  8. Native mobile app

I primarily write in the Google Docs App on mobile/tablet, so that’s the kind of experience I’d be looking for in a substitute.I write almost every day and collaborate frequently with an editor and would really like to find an alternative to google.I was hoping this would be it, but without a robust mobile option, I just don’t know if this will be the best fit.

  9. Set word count goals / show writing streaks

Okay, so I know this might sound a little silly, but with everyone jumping ship on the "official" NaNoWriMo people and the website potentially not long for this world, having some place to have some sort of goal setter (where it keeps track of word counts, tallies per day progress, etc etc) would be really amazing. I know it's not like a priority or anything, I just feel like it's something that really helps me stay motivated to continue writing at more regular rates as a visual person being able to see how much I've done. Edit : Mainly thought of this now as I basically stress test the nano system to see all the bugs in it that annoy me, please make sure that we can log negative numbers for days when we edit? Because as far as I can tell, Nano doesn't actually let you subtract from your total, only add.

  11. Manually organize / order drafts

We can create drafts, but so far it seems like all drafts are just listed in a random order? It'd be great if we could drag and drop drafts in the left-side dropdown to organize them.

  12. Desktop / laptop app

I (and many writers I know) appreciate having a native PC app. For me, it allows me to work without having reliable internet and push/share changes once I am back online. It also is beneficial to have an app that lives in my toolbar that I can open that doesn't have the option for me to get sidetracked by search windows I'd forgotten about, impulsive whims, etc. It creates a more seamless work experience all around.

  14. Make word count always visible

I like to be able to view word count at a glance, not only as a way of tracking my session progress, but to facilitate pacing management. At present the word count is located in an inconvenient place (top right corner of the editor) rather than the bottom of the editor, where active typing occurs. It also disappears when the page scrolls, requiring me to scroll back up to view the word count, which is again irritating and inconvenient for something I like to check at a glance.

  15. Tag / @-mention collaborators in comments

When I’m working with 3 or more people, sometimes certain comments are meant for one collaborator to see and It would be great if we could tag them for faster access.
