We can create drafts of the main work, but there's no option to split a single, larger work into chapters (that we can then make drafts of) so that we can work and edit chapter-by-chapter.

Allow writers to manage custom dictionaries to include / exclude specific words from spell check.

A timeline creation tool to help organize key plot events, worldbuilding, and planning.

An interactive board for story plotting. Writers could map out plot threads, characters, worldbuilding details etc. in a visual "whiteboard" tailored specifically for storytelling.

I (and many writers I know) appreciate having a native PC app. For me, it allows me to work without having reliable internet and push/share changes once I am back online. It also is beneficial to have an app that lives in my toolbar that I can open that doesn't have the option for me to get sidetracked by search windows I'd forgotten about, impulsive whims, etc. It creates a more seamless work experience all around.

It would be fun to be able to add a cover or thumbnail to our documents as a way to quickly tell apart our projects on the dashboard at a glance, especially for some of us pantsers who wait about titling our works until we're almost finished.

We can create drafts, but so far it seems like all drafts are just listed in a random order? It'd be great if we could drag and drop drafts in the left-side dropdown to organize them.

it would be nice to be able to upload our own fonts! i for example use PT Serif almost exclusively, and it's a little jarring to be forced to use one of the built-in ones :)

Make it easier to insert symbols, special characters, and emoji in the text editor.

Different stories have different vibes and I'd love to have a unique theme for each. I personally would want to set it at the folder level but could see people wanting it at the file or draft level.

For example: Show total words across all docs over time (similar to AO3) Show writing streak over a week / month / year

I'm doing a story chain on Ellipsus with multiple writers, and we edit each other's previous parts in the chain whenever we have free time. Right now, we can only leave comments or edit directly. We don't mind editing directly for small typos, but for major revisions, it'd be helpful to "suggest edits" instead so that it doesn't seem like we're overstepping. Our current workaround to this problem is suggesting our big edits in comments, but this workflow is really not that efficient.

I think an option to split screen in the window between two drafts would be really helpful. I love the UI and all the interface we have so far, but as someone who sometimes starts clean for drafts, it would be really helpful to be able to have two documents/drafts open at a time and type in those drafts so that I can look between them and find what I want to change more easily.

Add an archive folder/section where completed/published work can be moved to for preserving. I find my list of works is really cluttered and it's strangely demoralising seeing works I know I finished in with "under construction" work.

A built-in database for tracking story elements (characters, places, worldbuilding), allowing writers to link mentions in their document to reference entries. Clicking a linked name would pull up all notes and past mentions of a character, preventing contradictions.
