  3. Add Tense Check to Writing Insights

I love the addition of the POV check, and think a tense checker would be even more beneficial as it would be used by a wider range of people (not everyone changes POVs, but so many people struggle with keeping tense). As a beta reader, it's probably one of the most common correction I make. I believe it would also be a make-or-break feature for some, since again, it's something almost all my writer friends struggle with.

  4. Expand built-in dictionaries

This is specifically about words that are both already English and already spelled correctly, and how they are currently tripping the spell check. Like, for example, "biome" or "rainforest" (which does tend to be spelled as one word). Teaching the dictionary country and character names is fine once it's available, it just seems silly to have to do that with words that are in the Merriam-Webster dictionary.

  5. Punctuation check

Basically spellcheck but for punctuation, suggest punctuation that can be changed, added or removed, similar to what google docs and microsoft word have. It would help in many ways and I didn't see any way to add something similar so if someone would want something like this they would need to go to another program to get any help with it, and it is one of the biggest drawbacks from using this program for me.

  6. Spell check: Check multiple languages at once

I’d like to be able to select multiple languages at once while writing so that I can write in multiple without one getting marked as incorrect all the time. This can go for completely different languages like a Chinese person speaking their native language in an otherwise English document or just simple slang variations between British English and American English

  7. Additional font suggestions

Want to see a new font in Ellipsus? Add your idea in the comments. πŸ‘‡ Please keep the following in mind: We cannot add MS default fonts like Times New Roman, Comic Sans, Lucida Sans, Verdana. We would need to pay to license them which isn't financially realistic for us at this time. 😭We can only support fonts that offer free commercial licensing. Font Squirrel and Google Fonts offer tons of options. We'll only add fonts with full Latin glyph support (e.g., letters, numbers, symbols, punctuation)

  8. Native Localization (Additional Language/Regional Support in UI, Menus, Metadata)

So, I'm not the audience for this, being a primarily English speaker, but I was thinking, as Ellipsus grows big enough to be able to support more languages to write with, it would be logical to have that chosen language extend to translating the base site as well if a user needs it. So that Ellipsus can be for everyone!

  9. Add Chinese to Supported Languages please!

Although I suspect that there are not many of us, but please consider adding Chinese (Mandarin, and traditional Chinese) to your supported languages please :) I've been loving the website for all of its other features (especially how anti-AI it is) but I'm starting to work on a Chinese project on here and I really need the word count to count Chinese characters.

  11. Recognition of non-American dialogue formats in Writing Insights

In Australia, the UK, and many other places, the correct way to punctuate dialogue is with single-quotation marks, not double. This is in accordance with nationally recognised style guides and publishing industry standards. The 'Dialogue Balance' feature does not recognise speech formatted using single-quotations as dialogue, so it labels all documents using them as being 100% narration. This renders the feature unusable for anyone in the aforementioned countries who are seeking publication.

Pretty simple - I was intending to write a document in Hebrew, which is read right-to-left, and I wanted the document to be so aligned.

  14. Add Arabic to the supported languages

Although I prefer to write mostly in English, Arabic is my mother tongue and I do write in it sometimes, so I'd like for it to be added in spell check. The grammatical structure in Arabic is already complex so there's bound to be a lot of errors one would make while writing that'd need to be reviewed.

  15. Add Finnish to the spell check languages

I write in Finnish sometimes, so it would be useful to have that as an option for the spell check features
